The latest Mega Millions jackpot winner, Richard Wahl, 47, takes his prize in cash in hand instead of the full value over 30 years. His ticket was worth $533 million and he will receive only $175 million. 

Winning large lottery jackpots can be more money than many 1% of the population are going to make over their whole lifetime. This actually can come with some huge disappointments and disadvantages.

A couple in Michigan nearly missed out on winning $2 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket after the winner thought it was a losing ticket. 

The massive Mega Millions jackpot of $521 million has won, the ticket being sold in New Jersey.
