A Powerball winner who is $50million richer nearly missed out on the winning ticket twice!!

A lucky mum purchased the Lotto ticket on Thursday in Maroubra in Sydney’s east, but very nearly didn’t make the trip out because of the terrible rain battering in New South Wales. She also didn’t register her name when she purchased the lucky ticket, meaning there was no way for officials to phone to inform them of her big win – It also means the new millionaire may not even know they’ve won, this then lead to a days long search and campaign to find her.

‘At the last minute, I had to go out so I thought I would try my luck.’ She said she forgot about her purchase until she heard someone had won $50million, so she checked her numbers and told her shocked husband the incredible news. ‘This is far too exciting; we are still trying to get our heads around it. It’s so hard to comprehend that we are now multimillionaires,’ she said. The woman said she and her husband were planning on buying a new house, provide for family members and then go on ‘lots of shopping sprees’.

The winning numbers were 18, 30, 16, 29, 6, 33 and 35, with the Powerball number 4
