Lottery winners design bedroom for daughter with disability
Parents uses £1 million lottery winnings to create dream bedroom for daughter with disability.
Parents, Adam and Amy, used their £1 million lottery winnings to light up the life of their daughter, who has a chromosome 11 abnormality. Three-year-old Charlotte was treated to her own unique sensory room by her parents, as shown in the picture.
The couple, Adam, 35, and Amy Pryor, 30, won £1 million in August 2017. They have since put this money towards building a unique sensory room for their daughter.
The lottery winners discuss their struggles as a family
“We won the lottery after a tough year. Charlotte was born seven weeks early, with a cleft palate and while doctors were running tests, more issues emerged,” Adam, who lives in Kent with his family, said.
“Charlotte was diagnosed with a chromosome 11 abnormality, and was totally deaf in one ear and partially deaf in another.”
“The first eight months of her life were spent with repeated hospital visits.”
It’s a space which makes her so happy…
The family were able to switch from a two-bed terrace house to a four-bed detached home where they could create a special room for Charlotte.
“She loves this room and we can see her making huge progress,”
“Better still, it’s a space which makes her so happy – she laughs and chuckles and doesn’t stop.”
The lovely images of the family will be on display at a special National Lottery exhibition in Fulham Palace. The exhibit includes 25 unique photographs of winners and aims to tell their individual stories.
