Coronavirus: £58m Winner!
Winner Ryan Hoyle aged 38, said he was “shaking” during Coronavirus lockdown when he got his congratulations email informing him he had become a multi-millionaire in Friday’s EuroMillions draw.
He couldn’t believe it! “The email linked to my account which just looked like a lot of numbers, and I thought it might be millions but I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing” – Ryan went on to explain he drove to his parents’ house, as we were in lockdown I passed my phone through the window for them to “double-check” my numbers as i was in that much shock.
After confirming the eight-figure jackpot, he enjoyed a drink in the sunshine with his brothers, “I just felt incredible! What an amazing feeling during such tough times – I just couldn’t be alone but we ensured keeping two metres apart during our celebrations. I needed to talk to them about my win to try and get my head around such a massive win. It was a nice afternoon and it really helped with the shock.”
Hoyle, of Rochdale, in Greater Manchester, said he first thought he had won £2.30 when he saw an email from the National Lottery on Saturday.
‘It was real’
When he read the email, he said it “looked like a lot of numbers… I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing”. He said I couldn’t stop “shaking and really needed a second opinion so… I drove round to mum and dad’s house”.
“It was real – I had won £58m.” Ryan now finds himself in 20th place on The National Lottery millionaire rich list, is currently renting a one bed flat, but soon will be looking to purchase his own home as soon as the lockdown is lifted and he can see what is available for himself and his 11 year old daughter.
